Temperature Control Modes
The instrument uses one of two temperature control modes to determine when the sample reaches the target temperature in a protocol:
● | Block mode — when the sample volume is set to 0 μl, the instrument assumes the sample temperature is the same as the measured block temperature and automatically sets this mode. |
● | Calculated mode — when the sample volume is set to more than 0 µl (non-zero volume appropriate for the block), the instrument calculates the sample temperature based on the sample volume. This is the standard mode. |
Important: When the protocol is started on an instrument, reaction volume range may be restricted to a narrower range, depending on the instrument.
